Abstract
Organised in conjunction with the exhibition Enduring Strength and Passion: The Chinese and Western Art of Ting Yin Yung, ‘Footprints of Ting Yin Yung’ will offer a unique journey into Ting’s artistic trajectory. The event will include a curator-led tour of the exhibition and an outdoor trip to sites where the artist lived, created works and offered classes. Guided by one of Ting’s former students, participants will explore the artist’s life and career in Hong Kong.

Outdoor trip guided by Mr TSUI Chi Yu
Mr Tsui Chi Yu began his studies in 1966, in the Department of Fine Arts (FAA), New Asia College at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He was a student of Chen Shih Wen, Ting Yin Yung and Pierre Ryckmans. He has worked in various units of CUHK for the past twenty-seven years, including a producer position for the ITV programme Introduction to Chinese Painting, which featured Ting’s works. Over the past ten years, he has been a contributing editor of several books about former teachers in FAA published by the Alumni Association of FAA, CUHK.

Exhibition tour led by Dr Sarah NG
Dr Sarah Ng is a curator in the University Museum and Art Gallery, The University of Hong Kong. She received her DPhil in History of Art from the University of Oxford. Her areas of expertise include Ming dynasty and late imperial Chinese painting, calligraphy and ink rubbings.

Registration
Registration opens on 15 December 2022. To register, please complete the application form and submit it together with the corresponding course fee either:
1. by post, or
2. in person to the Museum Office during office hours (2/F, T.T. Tsui Building, UMAG, HKU)
Payment methods and mailing details can be found on the application form. All applications will be processed only when both the completed form and course fee are received.

Please note that most of the activities will be held outdoors. It is recommended to wear comfortable and warm clothing and shoes, and bring enough water, sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, rain gear, etc. The detailed itinerary will be announced after the registration period.
