UMAG relies upon volunteer support. The Museum is open to the public six days a week, and volunteers play an essential role in inspiring and engaging museum visitors in dialogue about the collections.
We invite you to explore the range of opportunities within the categories of Museum Department Volunteers and Guided Tour Programmes Volunteers.
Museum Department Volunteers work individually or in groups behind-the-scenes, performing a variety of duties related to the Museum’s collections. Individuals foster UMAG’s mission and support its interdisciplinary programmes through activities related to art, history and collecting. Volunteers also support curatorial staff catalogues, assist with the translation of publication and gallery texts and conduct social media initiatives.
Guided Tour Program Volunteers contribute to UMAG’s growing programme of guided tours to the Museum’s permanent collection and special exhibitions. Volunteers engage with audiences through interactive educational experiences and inspire with stories, tours, gallery talks, demonstrations and creative hands-on programming.
Volunteering at UMAG is a rewarding experience that requires a high degree of motivation and dedication.
