GLAM Collections: Vision and Goals

Vision: A collaborative platform that empowers students to co-create transformative, innovative projects using Gallery, Libraries, Archives and Museum collections (GLAM collections) — fostering creativity, cultural impact, and future-ready skills through interdisciplinary partnerships.

Cultivate student competencies in creativity, leadership, teamwork, communication, and project management through proposal pitching, storytelling and implementation.

Transformation of collections of galleries, libraries, archives and museums into teaching objects and learning opportunities to diversify and enrich student and staff teaching & learning experiences.

How can I get involved

I am a student

I am a teacher

  • Join the Phase 1 workshops between October to November (all events will be notified through email and social media)
  • Identify opportunities and potential from your own courses. (If you were teaching, how would you do it with GLAM Collections?)
  • Work with The Project Clinic and kickstart your creation
  • Give a workshop during Phase 1 workshops between October to November
  • Staff Mentoring/Advisor for GLAM Student Educators
  • Support the integration of GLAM Student Educator’s teaching objects as supporting resources in your own curriculum

Basic Program Requirements

Distinction

Phase 1: Learn Phase 2: Design Phase 3: Teach
August 2025 – November 2025 December 2025 – March 2026 April 2026 and beyond

All student and staff are welcome to join The GLAM Collections team will keep track of attendance for each workshop.

Selected GLAM Storytellers working with faculty advisors proceed to Phase 2 based on the proposal submission.

GLAM Storytellers who want to take one step further in their implementation of their teaching object.

Proposals are submitted in an online form.
The Form will also be shared on email and end of every workshop. 

 

  • Completion of at least 2 workshops and submission of a Phase 2 proposal.
  • e-Certificate recognition is awarded.
  • Upon completion of a final report and teaching object.
  • GLAM Collections program e-Certificate is awarded.
  • Top 3 projects chosen by a jury of the partners will be awarded a prize.
  • A distinction and special recognition is awarded for individuals and teams who were able to implement their projects in the GLAM Collections Program.
  • Eligible projects may also gain access to funding and collaboration opportunities with the GLAM Collections Partners for implementing their projects.
  • Recommendation letter for completed projects from the GLAM Collections partners.
Student undergo a series of workshops and events aim to develop student’s pedagogical knowledge and teaching skills. Events and workshops are open to the university community and attendance is taken at each session. Design and implementation of student co-created teaching objects for T&L activities, on selected themes and collections. Supported by TPC, GLAM curators and the expert network of the partners. Student implement and teacher their teaching objects, then implemented in the summer. Leading a workshop for members of the community with their phase 2 project.

Proposal Submission
Part of the requirement for Phase 1. This proposal designed to be a transition into Phase 2.

Have you ever wanted to share/teach something you are passionate about?
Proposals are submitted in a rolling basis by 1st December 2025 and notice on progression into Phase 2 in January.

Criteria:
1. Creativity – Unique and innovative approach that utilises the GLAM Collections. Projects with interdisciplinary approach would be encouraged.
2. Impact – Projects are able to reach their planned outcomes and create a long lasting impact.
3. Relevance – Alignment to the year’s priority theme and Phase 1 workshops is preferred, with thoughtful design of planned activities.


To complete Phase 1:
Attend at least 2 of the Workshops + Submission of Teaching Object Proposal

Phase 2: Design

Ideation & Implementation

Onboarding session in start of Semester 2 in 2026 for the successful proposals submitted at the end of Phase 1.

Followed with an 8 week cycle with a halfway check-in and support to help create and implement proposed teaching objects and projects. Implementation can extend till the summer especially for those conducting events/courses and will be eligible for distinction. Progress check sessions and cultural events are also held to increase awareness of the possibilities of GLAM collections.
