This concert blends the ethereal beauty of the harp with the ancient, resonant tones of the Chinese sheng, creating a dialogue between East and West. Featuring classical, traditional, and contemporary pieces, the duo explores harmony, contrast, and innovation. Experience a serene yet dynamic journey at the intersection of two distinct musical worlds.

Loo Sze-wang | Sheng

Award-winning Hong Kong musician Loo Sze-wang is one of the most celebrated sheng (Chinese mouth-organ) players of his generation. A versatile performer, he has appeared as a featured soloist and chamber musician on stages worldwide. In 2024, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Notre Dame jointly invited Loo to record an album. That April, the University of Hawai’i appointed him as Artist-in-Residence. In November, he collaborated with the HK Sinfonietta, premiering a double concerto alongside didgeridoo player William Barton.

Judy Ho Ching Man | Harp

Judy Ho Ching Man was awarded an Artist Fellowship at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama after receiving her Master’s with distinction. Prior to her master’s studies, she studied at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the HKAPA. Judy has been Principal Harpist at distinguished orchestral academies and international festivals, including the Salzburg Festival and the Schleswig-Holstein Orchestral Academy.
