Inking Across Space: Modern Calligraphy on Fai Chun Workshop

Date:  28 Jan 2024 - 4 Feb 2024

Venue: Workshop Room, G/F, Fung Ping Shan Building, UMAG, HKU, 90 Bonham Road, Pokfulam

The Lunar New Year is approaching, which means that it’s time to write and give away Fai Chun (Spring Couplets). Organised in conjunction with the exhibition COUPLET PAIR REBUS The Principle of Cause and Effect in Art, artist FUNG Yee Lick Eric invites participants to explore the potential of ‘significant form’ in Chinese calligraphy. Attendees will experience the relationship between lines and space, capture surrounding visual elements and create modern forms of calligraphy and Fai Chun that embody tradition and individuality.

Organised by: University Museum and Art Gallery (UMAG), The University of Hong Kong

Instructor: FUNG Yee Lick Eric
