Serene Scents:
Literati Incense Arts

Date:  27 Dec 2025 - 24 Jan 2026

Venue: Workshop Room, G/F, Fung Ping Shan Building, UMAG, HKU, 90 Bonham Road, Pokfulam

Channel your heart; cultivate the incense within

In this workshop, we begin by appreciating the ancient “charcoal-heating” technique, experiencing the serene and contemplative fragrance of premium agarwood. Participants will then make their own “incense seal” (香篆), immerse yourself in this spiritual cleansing experience. Through the focused act of stamping and the practice of mindful observation, we will draw upon the literati tradition of nurturing intention and refining the spirit through the use of incense. This practice weaves a thread of quiet elegance into daily life, revealing moments of deep composure.

May the subtle whisper of agarwood accompany you, offering a sanctuary of tranquillity for both body and mind amidst the pace of modern life.
