This tour offers the opportunity to discover the exhibition 8 times 8. stories．series．systems in mythology & art along with the artists Arvid BOECKER, Adrian FALKNER, Daphne Alexis HO, Klaus MERKEL, YAU Wing Fung and the show’s curator Harald KRAEMER. In dialogue with the curator and the public, the artists will provide information about the content and production of their works, as well as their individual artistic practices.

Artists
Arvid BOECKER (b. 1964, Wuppertal, Germany). Studied at the University of Trier and the Saar University of Fine Arts in Saarbrücken. Since 2015, he has also worked as a curator with his own project space in Heidelberg. His colour field paintings focus on the multi-layered manifestations of colour. He lives and works in Heidelberg.
Adrian FALKNER (b. 1979, Basel, Switzerland). Developed various graffiti techniques as SMASH137. Member of the Montana Writer Team. MFA from the Department of Fine Arts at the Academy of Art and Design, Basel. Focus on painting since 2005. Dismantles and assembles his own work, thus questioning the limits of painting. Lives and works in Basel.
Daphne Alexis HO 何居怡 (b. 1975, Hong Kong). MFA and PhD from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Well-known photographer specialising in landscape photography. Her photographs capture the dynamic energy of nature’s transformations, which she meticulously chronicles. Based in Hong Kong, she works wherever photography takes her.
Klaus MERKEL (b. 1953, Heidelberg, Germany). Studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe. 2009–2020 Professor of Painting, Münster Art Academy. Esteemed German painter who has been exploring the boundaries of painting for over 40 years. Lives and works in Freiburg/Breisgau and Schallstadt.
YAU Wing Fung 邱榮豐 (b. 1990, Hong Kong). MFA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Assistant professor at Hong Kong Baptist University. His ink art fuses traditional techniques with unexpected impulses and motifs. Through his evocative three-dimensional installations, he has redefined ink art, pushing its boundaries in new and innovative ways. He lives and works in Hong Kong.
Exhibition Curator
Harald KRAEMER 孔慧銳 (b. 1963, Trier, Germany). Art scholar in the MA Programme in Museum Studies at HKU with a focus on Museum Studies and Media in Museums. Curator known for his thematic exhibitions, including The Age of Experience, Future Memories and Couplet Pair Rebus. Lives and works in Hong Kong and Basel.
