Mozart completed the full set of six sonatas for piano with violin in the spring and summer of 1778 and dedicated them to Countess Elizabeth Auguste, Electress of Palatinate and Bavaria. They are consequently known as the ‘Palatine Sonatas’.
These dazzlingly colourful pieces feature wonderfully balanced duets that are simply a pure joy.
