My little bird:
Mokuhanga Workshop

Venue: Workshop Room, G/F, Fung Ping Shan Building, UMAG, HKU, 90 Bonham Road, Pokfulam

Organised in conjunction with the exhibition Japanese Printmakers of the Twentieth-Century Renaissance: Kurosaki Akira and Nakabayashi Tadayoshi, this workshop will introduce you to the traditional art of Mokuhanga woodblock printing. Designed for beginners, the instructor will guide you through the process of creating and printing a bird-themed art print that can be taken away as an example of the traditional skills acquired as part of the workshop.

Instructor: Ho Sheung Yan Nicolas

Born in Hong Kong in 1994, Ho Sheung Yan Nicolas graduated with a degree in Geography from Hong Kong Baptist University and later studied printmaking at the Sokei Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Tokyo, Japan. His primary printmaking practices in include screen printing and water-based woodblock printing (Mokuhanga).
