With his innovative approach to rethinking landscape painting and ink art, YAU Wing Fung has created impressive works, both as paintings and spatial installations. This talk will showcase some of the works and explore the compositional strategies he employs, drawing comparisons to traditional ink landscape painting.

Artists
YAU Wing Fung 邱榮豐 (b. 1990, Hong Kong). MFA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Assistant professor at Hong Kong Baptist University. His ink art fuses traditional techniques with unexpected impulses and motifs. Through his evocative three-dimensional installations, he has redefined ink art, pushing its boundaries in new and innovative ways. He lives and works in Hong Kong.
Exhibition Curator
Harald KRAEMER 孔慧銳 (b. 1963, Trier, Germany). Art scholar in the MA Programme in Museum Studies at HKU with a focus on Museum Studies and Media in Museums, and Exhibition Curator at UMAG. In his exhibition and the accompanying publication Future Memories. Utopia Dystopia Nature (2021), he examines various aspects of landscapes in 21st-century art. He has also offered seminars on landscape painting at the Universities of Bern and Constance. He lives and works in Hong Kong and Basel.
