The World Is Full of Signs.
The Rediscovery of Iconography

Date:  18 May 2025 - 18 May 2025

The desire for compelling stories remains as strong as ever. Films, games, and anime are rich with traces of ancient mythologies and legends. Narratives are also making a resurgence in exhibitions and contemporary art, where symbols and signs are used to convey stories. However, this revival depends on an understanding of ancient mythologies—a knowledge that is gradually fading. In his talk, art historian Harald KRAEMER will speak about the importance of iconography and why the old stories of ethical virtue remain relevant today.
