Join four distinguished art experts in conversation about the ongoing establishment of institutions, such as the Shenzhen Bay Culture Square that introduces an engaging methodology facilitating the learning and appreciating of design, and French exhibitions they curate.

Julia Liotard-Vogt, Director of the Alliance Française de Hong Kong

 

Julia Liotard-Vogt is a French executive and entrepreneur who has made Hong Kong her home since 2010. Following a distinguished career leading iconic French Maisons—including roles at LVMH, Bluebell Group, and Pierre Hermé Paris—she transitioned her expertise in savoir-faire to the cultural sector. Now the Executive Director of Alliance Française Hong Kong, she champions French language and arts. Her global perspective is shaped by studies at ESCP and IIM Calcutta.

 

Xavier Mahé, Director of Le French May Arts Festival

 

Since 2019, Xavier Mahe has served as Executive Director of the French May Arts Festival in Hong Kong, leading one of Asia’s largest cultural events. With over 20 years of experience in cultural leadership, public institutions in France and Hong Kong, he has worked at the intersection of culture, diplomacy, and strategic partnerships across Europe and Asia

 

Felix Kwok, Chief Creative Officer and Deputy Director of Shenzhen Bay Culture Square

 

Chief Creative Officer and Deputy Director of Shenzhen Design Bay (Shenzhen Bay Culture Square); Registered Auctioneer of China; Academic Advisor at Tsinghua University Academy of Arts & Design Training Center. Former Director and Head of Modern Art at Sotheby’s Asia, where he auctioneered the two most valuable Chinese paintings ever sold by Sotheby’s globally. Named one of the “Most Influential People in Art” by Observer (New York, 2024) and i “40 Under 40 Asia Pacific” by Apollo The Art Magazine (London, 2022).

 

Florian Knothe, Director of the University Museum and Art Gallery, HKU

 

Director of the University Museum and Art Gallery and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts, The University of Hong Kong (HKU). He started his career at The Metropolitan Museum of Art focusing on European sculpture and decorative arts. Before joining HKU, he served as curator of European glass at The Corning Museum of Glass overseeing the European and East Asian departments. In 2010, he organized an exhibition on East Meets West, and lectures internationally on cross-cultural influences in art and workshop practice since.
