Born in Hong Kong in 1952, Raymond Fung is a famous architect, designer and ink-painter. He has won numerous awards, including three President's Prize of The Hong Kong Institute of Architects, the Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award (1990), Home Affairs Bureau Certificate of Commendation (2008) and the Ten Outstanding Designers Award (2009). He founded the art society of "Ink Movement" and is currently Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, a member of the Development Committee under the Board of West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, and Honorary Advisor to the LCSD museums.

Fung began painting when he was young. After receiving his professional degree in architecture from Louisiana State University in the United States, he continued his art studies in the extra-mural programmes of The University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. He combines traditional ink painting with a Western approach to colour and composition. His training as an architect and interest in the visual environment inspire his lyrical composition and brushwork.

The exhibition features over twenty items of Fungs paintings, mostly on the landscapes of Hong Kong. The artist will give a public talk on the displayed works (in Cantonese) on Saturday, 30 January 2010 at 3 pm.
