Gift of Eugene and Andrew Lai in the name of their father Lai Chung–ping
Statues of lions have traditionally stood in front of Chinese buildings, and were thought to possess protective powers. The lions are usually depicted in pairs, consisting of a male on the left with his paw resting on an embroidered ball and a female on the right caressing a cub.
